Want ration? Link your Aadhaar with card: DC

MYSURU: Take note all ration card holders. If you haven’t linked your Aadhaar number with your ration card, you’re likely to lose your ration from next month.

The district administration on Tuesday warned that it would stop supplying ration if they don’t comply with the directive before October. Deputy commissioner D Randeep said that the administration has set October 31 as the deadline to link the unique ID.

Ration card holders should link the Aadhaar number of every member of the family. “Those who haven’t linked it must do so before October-end,” he added.

As per statistics as many as 6,01,389 families possess ration cards and there are about 20,05,529 beneficiaries of which only 16,92,306 have enrolled their number. It stands at 84%.

Beneficiaries can link Aadhaar at MysuruOne Centers, Atalji Janasnehi Kendra and taluk panchayat offices.

The district administration is working to declare Mysuru district as a kerosene-free district by December 15. In all, the district has 39,690 BPL families which don’t have LPG facility and we have decided to give LPG connection to them under the central government’s Ujwala Scheme. The BPL card owners should pay a sum of Rs 1,600 for the services, said DC D Randeep.
