Nearly one-and-a-half years after the allotment of Universal Account Number (UAN) only 52 per cent of PF subscribers under the jurisdiction of the Sub Regional Office (SRO) of Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Visakhapatnam, have registered their mobile numbers.
This is despite the fact that UAN registration entitles an EPF member to avail of a host of facilities like: downloading dynamic UAN card, knowing the balance details, portability of accounts linked with UAN and updating of KYC (Know Your Client) information.
Subscribers whose details like Aadhaar number and Bank Account number have been seeded in their UAN and, whose UAN has been activated, can now submit their claims in Form-19, Form-10 C and Form 31 directly to the Commissioner without attestation of their employers, for settlement of their claims.
“All employees whose Aadhaar no. and bank details have been seeded as KYC and have been duly verified by the employer using digital signature and details taken in Form no. 11 (new) can directly file their settlement claims with the EPFO. All other employees, who do not fulfil these conditions, should file their withdrawal claims by submitting the existing forms under 19, 10C or 31 as applicable,” says Regional PF Commissioner R.K. Sahoo.
A mobile app has been launched as part of the m-governance initiatives. Members can activate their UAN accounts from their mobile phones and access their accounts for viewing their monthly credits and also the details available with the EPFO.
EPF pensioners can access their pension disbursement details and employers can view their remittance details through the mobile app.
Members can also activate their accounts by sending an SMS. The member has to send EPFOHO Act, 12 digit UAN number, 22 digit member ID, from his mobile to 7738299899.
Missed call facility
Members registered on the UAN portal may get their details available with the EPFO by a giving a missed call to 01122901406 from their registered mobile no. If the UAN no. is seeded with the bank account number, Aadhaar and PAN, the member will also get details of the last contribution and PF balance.
UAN registered members may know their KYC details available with the EPFO by sending an SMS at 7738299899. If the UAN no. of the member is seeded with any of the bank account number, Aadhaar and PAN, the member will get details of the last contribution and PF balance. This facility is available in 10 Indian languages including Telugu, apart from English.
Mr. Sahoo said: “SRO, Visakhapatnam, was one of the first offices in India to shift to the e-payment in respect of all pensioners through CBS (Core Banking Solutions) platform. A total of 66,757 pensioners are being served by the SRO and their pensions are being disbursed regularly by the first of every month.”
