Biometric registration for issuing Aadhaar card had been done for 94 per cent of the population in Theni district, said to Collector N. Venkatachalam.
In a release, he said that special camps would be held in Uthamapalayam, Chinnamanur, Cumbum and Bodi between January 5 and 11 to cover all school students.
The district administration had been making efforts to issue Aadhaar card to all those aged above five years.
Of the 12,45,899 persons in the district as per 2011 census, biometric registration had been done for 11,74,072 persons as on December 28, 2015, covering 94.23 per cent of the population.
Special registration drive would be conducted to enrol those left out of the exercise.
To begin with, special camps would be held between January 5 and 11 at ZKK Primary School, Bodi, St. Periyanayaki Middle School, Uthamapalayam, Chinnamanur Municipal Middle School, Chinnamanur, and Municipal Primary School, Cumbum.
These camps were meant for enrolling school students only. Revenue and education officials had been deputed to monitor the work, he said.
The Collector appealed to the parents to take their wards to those centres and submit required details for Aadhaar registration.
