The department is providing special facilities on its online portal. As the government has recently made Aadhaar mandatory for most statutory schemes, it has become necessary to keep the Aadhaar updated along with your latest mobile number.
While filling the Aadhaar card form online, you also have to fill a captcha, after submitting it, an OTP is sent to your registered mobile number (RMN). But if you want to change your mobile number, then you can change it online too by following these easy steps.
Here’s the step by step guide to rectify mistakes and change number online.
For this, you have to go to UIDAI website (address) and click on Update Aadhaar Section
Visit UIDAI website, click on ‘Update Aadhar’ section. Go to this ‘https://resident.uidai.gov.in’ URL to make changes.
A page will appear where ‘Request for Aadhaar’ will be shown on the left. At the bottom of this dialog box, ‘update Aadhaar details (online) will appear. Click on it. A new page will be open.
At the bottom of this new page, you will have to click on ‘submit your update/correction request please click here’. After this, a new page will be open.
1. In this new form, you have to enter your Aadhaar number. After this, you will have to fill out the Verify CAPTCHA code, which will generate an OTP on your existing mobile number. After inserting OTP, a new page will open, in which you can update your new details.
2. If you want to change your mobile number then you can enter it here.
3. Complete the process by submitting this form with the changes made.
