EPFO members told to submit Aadhaar details

The Regional Employees Provident Fund Organisation has urged its members to submit proof of Aadhaar number for ensuring speedy and better service.

In a statement, Sanat Kumar, Regional PF Commissioner II said the use of Aadhaar as identity document for delivery of services or benefits or subsidies simplified the government delivery process and enabled the beneficiaries to get their entitlements directly in a convenient and seamless manner. The Central government had notified the requirement of Aadhaar for the purpose of availing the Central government’s contribution and subsidy under the Employees’ pension Scheme.

Hence, members and pensioners of the Employees’ Pension Scheme desirous of continuing to avail pension and membership by availing the Central government’s contribution and subsidy under the said scheme, should furnish proof of the possession of Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication for better and hassle-free identification through Aadhaar.

In case such members are not enrolled, they are advised to get themselves enrolled at the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.

Till the time Aadhaar was assigned to the said member, the Central government’s contribution and subsidy shall be given based on the alternate and viable means of identification as notified by the EPFO subject to the production of the following documents such as identity certificate issued by the employer or field office of the EPFO with the Universal Account Number (UAN), Aadhaar Enrolment ID slip, if the member or pensioner has enrolled or a copy of the request made for Aadhaar enrolment and the voter ID / PAN card / Passport / Driving License / the certificate of identity having photo of such member issued by a Gazetted Officer or a tahsildar on an official letterhead / any other document specified by the EPFO.

Hence, all EPS members having Aadhar should directly approach the employer to upload the Aadhar (KYC) details immediately.

Further, all the employers are hereby directed to educate the members and upload Aadhaar and KYC details immediately.

For EPS pensioners, this office was conducting Jeevan Pramaan capturing exercise on all working days and all those pensioners who have not yet submitted digital life certificates through Jeevan Pramaan may approach this office or the nearest Common Service Center (CSC) along with Aadhar, Pension Payment Order (PPO), passbook and mobile phone number, Mr. Sanat Kumar said.
