Kozhikode: District administration has decided to introduce a special drive to enroll all bedridden patients and differently-abled for aadhaar.
The enrolment process is expected to be completed within a month.
The scheme is planned to help all disabled and bedridden persons to avail the benefits of various welfare scheme introduced by central and state governments.
The plan is to visit the houses of bedridden patients to compete the aadhaar enrolment procedure.
Local self-government bodies in the district are directed to carry out a survey to identify all bedridden and disabled patients in their limit. Enrolment procedure will be completed by Akshaya on receiving the details of such persons.
“The residents should inform the ward member/ councillor or the secretary of the local body if any of their relatives or neighbours is bedridden or disabled,” said K Imbashekharan, assistant collector. The local self-government bodies should in turn hand over the collected data to district administration through deputy director of panchayat before August 25, he added.
Akshaya coordinators will visit the listed houses after collecting data from the local government bodies for taking photographs and for collecting other details for Aadhaar enrolment.
A special drive was carried out earlier to enrol all children below 6 years in aadhaar. Camps were organized at all panchayats, municipalities and corporation for including enrolling children.
