GANDHINAGAR: The Gujaratgovernment on Monday moved a bill in the state assembly to make Aadhaar number compulsory to avail subsidy in any state or central government scheme.
Deputy CM Nitin Patelsaid, “The Gujarat Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial And other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Bill will help in ensuring that the government subsidy reaches the real beneficiary only. Total 119 schemes have been linked with Aadhaar.”
A bill for giving medical allowance to present and past MLAs was also tabled in the house. Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Bill was also passed for completing town planning schemes in 18-month time limit.
As per the government claims, around 600 TPs will be cleared in the next three years after the amendment in the present law.
